The Artist Toolkit: Funding, Press, and Power Moves

Monday, May 12, 2025

6:00 PM CST | 7 PM EST | 4 PM PST

Live. Via Zoom.

Being an artist doesn’t mean you have to be completely broke and pay out of pocket for your art.

But being a “good” artist is not enough to guarantee a sustainable career.

The problem is: if you’re a self-taught artist, you may not know how to compete with art school grads. And if you did go to art school, you found out that they didn’t teach you the business side of being an artist—creating a cycle where artists have big dreams without the practical business infrastructure to achieve it.

In this two hour workshop, I will teach you the infrastructure and strategies that can help you create a sustainable and funded art practice—one with visibility and impact.

We will cover topics like:

  • writing a compelling artist statement

  • crafting an artist bio that makes folks want to learn more

  • how to write a CV

  • choosing competitive artist samples and what to do if you don’t have any

  • types of artist funding opportunities

  • completing grant applications

  • the award-winning strategies that are gatekept by successful artists

This workshop is for beginning and emerging artists of all disciplines, especially those who work in multiple arts mediums.

Funding isn’t impossible.

You just need strategy.

You’re two hours away from jumpstarting your career.
